I have the exact same unfinished piece in my stack of projects that must be finished in 2008!  You've inspired me to move this one up in the list . . . now I must go home and see how much more stiching I need to do.  Based on memory, I'd say that I've probably completed about the same amount as you have, but have been focusing on different areas.

I was more focused on the left hand side of the picture . . . maybe because I'm left-handed???

Anyway, it's so interesting to see how different stitchers approach a project.   Smiley

I started in the middle, of course, but beyond that I chose what to work on by going through different colors one at a time since they are arranged in bundles, and I wanted to minimized tangling.  The less I shuffle the floss around the less I tend to knot it all up.  Plus there's less chance of it getting dirty if I handle it less.  So it's kind of been worked from the center outwards more or less.

Hello All,

I have just joined this site, and think that this Big Project thingie would be a lot of fun. I have a TON of half-done kits/projects, and some I have yet to start. Having read all of your posts, I realize that I am NOT the only one that doesn't do things overnight!!!!

Finished my Challah cover!  Please, let me know what you think. Do I need to add something else? On the edges maybe? Smiley

HSG, I think you're finally done!  It's a thing of beauty and more embellishment might overwork it. You should be proud of yourself, that is truly lovely.

You know, after watching this piece go from basically nothing to THIS...wow. I'm blown away, it's beautiful, and doesn't need anything more. Congrats!
