I like the first one much better than the white one.  Grin

I love the white ones.... They are more elegant and trendy indeed. But maybe you can mix both designs: white square - purple square - white square - and so on..... That way the white will make the design more elegant, but with the fun of the purple squares....   Wink

i definatly think the first color scheme is the way to go! it looks clasy and incorporates her favorite colors!

the all white squares would seem too bland to me!

Why not alternate the white ones with the color ones> WCWCWC?

what about reversing the pattern?  Instead of a white box with a small purple center, use the purples to create the box and just use a splash of white in the middle?

Seeking scraps! I'm in need of a variety of white on white scraps. (2.5inch square minimum) for pixel quilts. Have any? Swap for? PM me! Smiley

Wow, I love Craftster! I can't believe how many replies I got, and so quickly! I think I'll go with my first thought and have it predominantly purple. Maybe when I get more than 14 blocks done I can see how I could add the white; I like someone's suggestion about using the white squares as a border. Thank you for your help--have a great day!

I love the white one.......
But if you really wanted to use the coloured ones as well why not see how a row of white and then a row of coloured, row of white than row of coloured etc looks?

Or  you could do both and in different sizes like this one (from my flicka favs! Wink)

I really love the white one with small purple squares...I think it's something the husband would enjoy more, as well Smiley

LOL...I just realized that this seems like a really one-sided wedding gift! But don't worry, my husband is giving a gift to her husband-to-be and then we're also giving a gift to both of them from us, so he won't feel left out! Besides, he's one of those guys who doesn't seem to care about things like the color of quilts.  Cheesy
