Fiber Friday's always kind of suck for me in a way because I am an 18 yr old girl with no job, who gets an allowance from her parents and most of is sucked up for gas because I have a 40 min commute everyday. Meaning I don't get to hoard fiber 3=

Give it time, sister. You won't be 18 forever. 
I learned to spin at about 14 at only had anything (spindle, 2nd hand wheel and some wool) because my parents wanted to encourage craftyness. But it was still slow, and these were the days before the internet (woah, I know) so to get anything I had to go get it. In a car. Wow. And generally my mom got the handspun, mostly because she knit (I do too now) but I do wonder if it was like payment for getting me those things..... But now I'm an almost 30 year old mother of two who owns 2 wheels (does happy dance), more spindles than I should have, two sets of hands carders, a drum carder, hand combs, and boxes of fibre I don't tell my husband about.

Give it time and enjoy being young. Curses, I know you are going to say I sound just like your mom. Because I sound just like MY mom.

There is so much great yarn this week that I just don't have the energy to name all the stuff I like. Good job, everyone!

Here's what I've been up to this week:





Quillion - textural scrap yarn, made from a big pile of leftover singles and bits and bobs of fibers, including raw merino & rambouillet locks, curly kid mohair, bamboo, and ecospun.





Molt - shiny bamboo goodness in deep orange & pale yellow with hints of pale grey-blue





Sprout - chemical-free merino-cross wool with sections of bamboo and lots of deformed felty baubles that look like seeds starting to sprout.

I haven't shared any yarns on fiber friday before, so here is my first



It's made from a spinning batt I got in a fiber exchange, lots of colors, textures and sparkle.

HURRAH..  I haven't posted for fiber friday in a while.  I have a few skiens today..

This is my favorite.. It's black alpaca carded with loads of sari silk.  I got it in a batt called "confetti" from Loop@etsy.

90 yards, 3 oz
it's a single, spun slightly thick thin


I really love this one too!!
It's superwash merino from my LYS
It's called "fruity pebbles"
110 yards, 4 oz
2 ply against itself.. spun slightly thick thin


The lighting is really bad with this one... sorry.
It's called "Rose Garden"  It varies from pinks to purple to a pretty green..  
It's corridale, plied with holographic silver thread.
70 yards, 2 oz


and finally I have to mini skeins made from 1 oz batts from Loop@etsy.

The first is from her batt called "kimono"
It's bamboo, tussah silk, corridale, merino and some sari silk and glitz.  It's a deep red bamboo, eggplant corridale and a lighter purple merino.  There's tussah silk and glitz in for sparkle.

I'm calling it "Cabernet"
1 oz, 39 yards

The second mini skein is from a batt she calles "little girl"  It's lilac alpaca, with 2 pinks in sari silk, purple sparkle and pink tussah silk.  *again, sorry for the bad pics*

30 yards, 1 oz.
Spun thick and thin with some fatty sari slubs



I just got my shipping notice that my Ashford Joy should be here by Wed.. so maybe I'll have some wheel spun for next FF!!!

Everything is fantastic as usual.  I haven't been here in a while and haven't done much spinning, but here are my two latest!!

Circus Parade---144 yards of dk to worsted weight Corriedale, handspun.  From 2oz of roving from the Traveling Rhinos October deluxe monthly club, Rainbow Connections.



Freak Show---68 yards and 4.2 whopping oz of crazy handspun goodness. A huge and chunky yarn!  There is wool, bamboo, mohair and tons of bling and glitz.  This was spun from an awesome "oh hell" batt from the talented HollyEQQ!



Freak Show was totally outside of my usual box and a really fun spin!

Wow!! What super awsome shiny colorful yarns we have this week! I am just sitting here smiling looking at all the beautiful creations. My husband wasn't nearly as excited as me but who cares, I feel that way about his 40 lvls in one day in World of Warcraft (ok not really 40 but you know what I mean). And I have one yarn for the week myself. I keep eyeing that yummy wrap from Knitty called Justify. I realllly want to make that. So, I have also never really experimented with a lot of colors so I made this yarn I am calling Craptastic cause it's made from crap off the floor and out of my (clean) trash can for fiber bits in the craft room. I was really likeing the colors. It is spindle spun and wheel plied and hopefully I will fix the going one way issue with the wheel soon... This is about 75 yards or so
