maybe you could put your names in blue to make them stand out and tie the initials to the text, as a start?

I think using blue and green can be very nice but to be really honest the shades of those colours that you chose are outdated and very 80's. I redid your invite but I haven't learned how to properly host and put pics up. If you'd like I can email it to you just send me a note and I'll send it off to you. If you use photoshop than I can send it as a layer format or I can send it as a jpg. Let me know.

I think you should do a variation on the first one.  One corner of the design could have the green floral/plant design, and the opposite corner could have the blue.  Crop the flor/plant design so you have adequate space for text.  The font should be larger.

I also think you should change the color of the font--is it black now?  If so, black is too harsh against the white and blue and green pastel.  Brown and pastel are combinations are very popular now, so that's an option you could go with.  Personally, I think it screams, "I got married in 200x!" but hey, I hate trends.  Maybe a charcoal would work.

I love designing invitations.  Here is what I would do:

Buy invitations like this: http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayProductPage?productNum=wd0056&channelid=

On the backside print a flower, like this (but in your colour obviously): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Hydrangea_redoute.JPG

and have the invitation part printed on the front, but find a nicer font/or something like a monogram of your names.  You can even buy inexpensive ribbon in your colour and replacethe white (usually they all come with white ribbon).  I hope you know what I mean.  You can also use the image from the first invitation that you posed, but print it on the back, because the vellium will make it appear lighter, and just space out the lettering over the whole page.

If you don't like the vellium idea (personally I hate printing on it, the letters always smudge, but that can be due to my cheap printer) then just make the picture "washed out" and place it in the background.

If you like my idea, but want more "proof", pm or email me, I can show you better than explaining it:).

hopefully this works .... this is the invite I redesigned ...

I used what info I could see .... and I used the first pics of the flowers for the color references and as part of the design.

Matua, that's gorgeous! It's exactly what I've been looking for! I don't have photoshop. (part of the design problems  Grin) But if I PM you my info to complete it would you be willing to do that and send it to me as a JPEG? You're my hero!!!
