Hi, guys!

I'm working on our invites and need a bit of assistance.  Our colors are red, white, black, and silver.  Our invites are red, 6"x6" square, and open up like a book.  The inner bit with the invitation is white with this graphic on the bottom:

...argh.  okay, well i can't get it to work.  in any case, it's a bunch of silhouettes of daisies in different shades of silverish, grey, and black.

anyway:  i need help with ribbons.  the first is a thicker silver ribbon on bottom, with thinner black ribbon on top.  in the middle is the tag, white on black, with the invitee's name.

the second is a thicker black ribbon with a thinner silver ribbon on top.  it has the same tag.

which do you prefer?  (obviously on "real" invites it'll all be centered and pretty, but just imagine for now Smiley)

the second one. i think because there is so much red & the circle is also black the thicker silver ribbon kind of helps it "hold its own" against the other two dominant colors.

in my head.

LOVE the color scheme  Smiley

I have a paintbrush, and I'm not afraid to use it!

I think that the top one has a better visual effect. The thin black ribbon creates a good solid black line, including the black circle, that really allows the name of the invitee to *pop*. With this one, the silver ribbon creates a great accent underneath with some sparkle. On the bottom one, the silver on top creates a disjointed look and draws away from the focal point. The first looks more grounded.

lovely invites! i like those colors!
if i had to choose just one...i think i'd go with the second one.  i like the two thicker ribbons, it looks a bit more tailored and classy, imho.
but both are really nice!

I hope this doesn't sound mean or anything because I don't want to offend, but, I thought you should be aware that the invitations kind of look like pokeballs, either way.

Here is a link to a picture of one:

I like the second ribbon arrangement better (thicker black ribbon with a thinner silver ribbon on top) and I'm thinking if you moved the circle shape so it is closer to the opening of the invitation it might not be as pokeball-ish.

Regardless of pokeballs or not, what others think about them is nowhere near as important as what you like regarding your invitations. I could probably be the only person who thought "Pokeball!" as she scrolled through the "Recent posts with pics," you know? So, don't worry about anything too much. Do what you like, okay?

Another thought - keep the circle in the center and put a white daisy shape (like, a deeply scalloped circle) behind the black circle but on top of the ribbons. That would look really cool and tie the inside to the outside really well.

I personally like the first one better. I like the line that the black creates. It feels strong and empowering.

I have never even heard of a "Pokeball".   I wouldn't worry about that.  Smiley

I like the first one best.

I totally thought of pokemon too when I saw these! lol. Idk if you wanna do anything about that, I guess it depends on the age group of your invites.

Picking between the two though, I like the first one best.
