I'm going to start draping it as soon as I get my last few swap packages sent out. If it comes out well, I'll post pattern pieces. Smiley

I would love you forever and always...

Has anyone had any luck with this?  I'm a little bit obsessed with this dress, too.  Smiley

'fraid I haven't had time to mess with it at all.  Maybe I will over the summer when I'm looking for a job Tongue
I don't think it would be too hard once you figure out the draping in the back (if you wanted it authentic to the movie, that is)  The rest of the dress seems pretty normal.  I think half of the awesomeness is in that beautiful colour they used!

Just found a beautiful dress that's really similar to the atonement dress made by natalia__m http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=242714.msg2678293#msg2678293
You should take a look for inspiration x

I bought a bolt of silk and I've been dyeing little swatches to get the best match. I'm determined to get the color just right Tongue Once I get that, I think I've got a fairly good idea of how the rest of it goes together--I'll be messing with it starting around the end of May, after my convention is over.

And that dress really is pretty! Looks like it was inspired by the movie, what with the hair and all Wink

I'm not doing personal swaps right now, but if you're interested, go ahead and PM me anyway--maybe we can work it out for later. Smiley

I'm making this for my prom dress.  Well, pretty close to it - I couldn't find the right green, so instead it's an eggplant-ish purple (I figured it had to be some sort of regal color).  We started with the Vogue pattern from the OP and used that bodice as the lining, but without the gathering, and we cut the godet down a bit as well.  We're adding a second bodice made out of the main fabric, all cut as one piece, that will be the loose blousy bit.  I'll post pictures when I'm done, I'm so excited!
