So what should I make him?

My 17mo son is allergic to peanuts and he just will not wear a bracelet, maybe in a year he'll keep it on, but right now, he won't. So what else can I make? I know medics/EMTs/nurses/Drs are trained to look for the bracelet ( I used to be an EMT), but he will rip this thing off or break his wrist trying. It's not like I can get him to wear a shirt everyday that says "I'm allergic to peanuts, penicillin and have asthma."

Anyone have a clearly visible and creative idea?

Can you embroider a patch to attach to his clothes?

Hmmm.... maybe a patch pin instead? I'd rather not put one on everything he owns. Thank you!!

Yep, I was thinking of something moveable. Would he open the pin? Velcro maybe? or snaps?

I would be sure everyone one of his friends knows. But I'm not sure what else you can do.

Would your DR have any idea's?

I'll ask his Allergist in the morning, I may have to call them anyways. Otherwise maybe make a few pin-on patches and put one on his front and one on his sleeve?

My 3yo gave him one of those Kellogg's cereal straws which has EVERY allergy-type food in the book in it (she ate it also and she is allergic to dairy) so we had a FUN day today. They were my oldest son's and I forgot to lock them back in the pantry yesterday. She went scavenging this morning before I got up and found them.  Roll Eyes That girl is a freaking handful.

I would suggest pinning one on his back.  My daughter would take off anything that I tried to pin to her shirts if it was anywhere in the front that she could reach.  This included sleeves.  Once I started putting on her back, we were good to go.

Will he wear a soft cuff or bracelet? I'm thinking like an athletic sweatband type thing, you could easily sew the metal tag to.
What if you slid it up to his bicep? It could be his strongman cuff!

You could put velco dots on his clothes & velcro on the patch (or three, bound to loose one eventually) and transfer them daily. Then you only need a few patches.

Both my children are very headstrong, I understand how ornery two's can be! But putting on a tag/ bracelet every day will drive home the importance of wearing it.

I guess what I'll do is make each of my kids a bracelet and then make his a medical alert bracelet. Hell, he's always stealing their glasses off their faces because HE wants glasses.  Roll Eyes Little Punk.

Would he wear cool "dog-tags"?  You maybe could find a metal tag with one of his favorite characters on it that can be engraved, that he could clip to his shirt(like a badge) or wear with a breakaway chain. (EMS looks for necklaces too)

Having a little one with a peanut allergy must bite.  It seems like manufacturers sneak nuts into the weirdest things...it's gotta be hard to always have to check.
