Hey there needlers,

I'm a knitter, typically, but my sister has been begging me for a Precious Moments cross-stitch for ages. I personally am not a fan, but I can see how the teardrop-eyed children appeal, and hey, it's been years since I started saying, "Someday..."

So three months, about $40 in supplies, and a lot of swearing later:

Sorry about the flash...

I bet she loved it! It is very cute, and beautifully done. I don't go in for them (P.M) much either.

It is surprising how expensive Cross stich is, round here the DMC threads can cost $1.20 each and when you need 30 or so colours for a project it sure adds up! I tried buying a cheaper brand and it was crapola. Could really tell it was cheap and nasty...

I used to make precious moments cross stitch all the time, about 20 years ago. I gave them all away except one. I know how difficult they are to make. There are so many details to them. You did a great job !

That's awesome. How long did it take?I just started doing cross stitch and it is a b!tch. But I stuck with it and am now able to do fairly good. However, I've not done anything with that much filling. Mostly patterns from Subversive Cross Stitch. Here DMC floss is 33 cents.

Wonderful job with all the details. I think I'd lose my eyesight and my sanity if I tried something like this.  Cheesy

Thanks, crafters! I was excited to post it because only nutters like us know how long this stuff takes. Isolde, it took a few hours in the evening, a few nights a week, for three months -- a LOT of hours. It's satisfying, though, to see it come to life slowly.

Wow, bananabanana, where do you live? DMC is usually between 25 and 35 cents here; maybe we should send you some!

I don't get what the hype is over them or Hello Kitty. My mom has been collecting those $50-$100 figures since I was a baby.

Ha ha, I love how you clarify in the post headline that this is not your style!  Otherwise in swaps you might start receiving Precious Moments crap!!  Smiley

Like most on here, this is not my taste either (no funny pictures, no bad words) but it is very pretty and very well done!
