A couple of hours ago, I got this urge... So I found a bunch of green scraps and made a tea cozy. I may need to line it to get full heat-retaining capabilities, but it's pretty thick and warm. The teapot I made it for has a pretty high handle/knob on the lid, which is why it has a little pointy top. Smiley It's about eight or ten inches high. Made on 4,5 mm wooden dpns, a 5 mm circ and two 5 mm straights (when I split it up to make holes for the handle and spout.)

I now have tons and tons of ends to weave in - a lot of the scraps weren't enough to do each stripe, so...

I'll probably test drive it tomorrow.

I love tea cozies, regardless of irony.  I like my tea a certain temperature and a cozy is a functional thing... even if it is kind of stereotypical froufrou!  Your's isn't froufrou at all though, it's very modern and good looking.

Yours is awesome, I love the tea colors you picked.  Great job.

It makes me want to go have tea time!

Hee, thanks all - but it's not cute! It's macho and post-something...

OK, it's cute.

It's an onion! Or is that just me? That could be ironic..but has nothing to do with tea. Ah well, I think its adorable anyway.

I love this tea cozy -- I am not a big fan of frou frou cozies, so this fits the ticket.  I never use the teapots I collect to actually make tea because I like hot tea -- your cozy inspires me.  So, how did you get it to fit your pot so "cozily" and does it just slip on or do you have to fight with it?  I can see a tea nightmare in my kitchen as I try to dress the pot . . .

addicted2knitting, I just did some basic figuring of increases and fit, and kept the pot next to me on the couch to make sure it was fitting well every now and then. And it slips on very easily, sort of over one protrusion at a time - first I slip one hole over the spout, and then it's stretchy enough at the bottom to go over the handle. I wouldn't feel brave enough to trust the top to keep the lid on, though...

lelah, that's an amusing description!
