I'm just a girl... trying to go green

Hey, I'm brand new to Craftster and so excited!  Here's a couple of the projects I've completed recently (just to get my foot in the door Smiley )

Here's a scarf for my husband - we just moved to Denver from Phoenix so we were completely unprepared for the cold!  He's never worn warm stuff, so it's hard to find anything he'd be comfortable with.
We finally agreed on this basic scarf.  It's Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick, I think, just with double crochet in back loops only.

Here's a beanie that I crocheted for the host of Food Network Challenge while attending a taping.  Sorry about the picture, but I had to take it without a flash on the seat next to me since they were always filming.
Anyways, the host was complaining that his head was too big to wear any hat and he said that all he ever wears is blue, so I whipped out this XL blue beanie.  Then, it turns out he's opening a dessert shop a mile from our house, so he gave us his card. I stitched on the logo for his new shop - I was impressed that I was able to make the 'd'....I was scared about that curve Wink

And finally, a couple finger puppets I made with scrap yarn.  The patterns are from the Jan/Feb '08 issue of 'Crochet Today'.  I totally struggled with the green guy's teeth - but my husband diggs them, so they stay.  I love the curled octopus arms  Grin

Anyways, I hope I posted the pictures correctly and didn't say anything stupid and I'm so excited to have found a group of insane crafters like myself

Thanks!  Yea, he didn't want different colors so I just crocheted in the back loops to give the illusion of stripes without it being so patterned that he wouldn't wear it.

Nice!  So now I'm curious...what was the food network guy's reaction to his new hat?

He was absolutely thrilled  Smiley  He ran around to all the crew showing them and insisted I didn't leave before we got a picture together.  Like I would have left without that!  I have that picture of us somewhere.....  Anyways, he was impressed that I had listened and made something so custom for him.  It was a good day  Grin

Everything you made is awesome.  I'm glad Food Network guy liked his hat.   Grin

I made those monster puppets too.. but yours turned out way better!  They are a fun little project.

And from one newbie to another, welcome!  Smiley
