Thanks balki!  Sadly, I found a rusty paper clip the same day I found that rusty washer -- and I lost the paper clip.  Boo.

This is one of three chunky pages I made for a monochromatic red swap.  It's called "Belief is Red".  The font of the page appears on the left, and the back appears on the right.

On the front of the page, the ribbon is stitched down with my sewing machine.  The woman's face is a tape transfer, and the star is a dimensional sparkley bit that I got from OriginalYouth.  The back is a bunch of scrapbook paper layered and painted with red acrylic paint, overlaid with punchinella stenciling (applied with ink).  The back is pretty simple, but I wanted it to be really red!  It has my artist info on it.

Sadly, the scanner died before I could scan the other two pages.  I'll try to take photos of them before I mail them.

Okay-you stitched it down to paper, right? I can't visualize the chunky book in a sewing machine Tongue Tongue

The page is made of 4 layers -- two bases of cardstock(2), each covered in layers of collage (2), glued back-to-back.  After I finished the front layers (base + collage) I wrapped the ribbon around it, then stuck that in my sewing machine.  So yes, I was sewing the ribbon to paper,  but it is fairly thick paper.

I made this chunky page for someone who is collecting angel pages.  This is "angel of thought".  I started with a magazine image of a woman that I thought was pretty, altered her hair and eyes, added part of a 3 for a halo, and then added paper bits I thought worked.  I'm really pleased with how this page turned out.

This is another red chunky book page, made for the same monochromatic swap as the one above, which was on a different site.  In a coincidence, this page ended up going to Alteredmommy.

Oh my goodness, these are amazing. I love the "I don't do dishes" on the Q.E. one and the angel one is beautiful... inspiring!

Oh Kat, that Angel of thought is lovely! I love your foray into the green spectrum for this too.
In fact, I love everything about her, so pretty.
I love all the doodads on the red page and especially all that stitching.

Thanks y'all!  I've been trying really hard to be brave and try new things lately -- like stitching and altering my images more and using green!  I appreciate the encouragement you all have given me.

I didn't get a good picture of the 3rd monochromatic red page I made.  It was called "hearts are red" and had all kinds of different hearts on it.  I'm bummed that I don't have an image of it to share.
