I have been wanting to do this for a while. In October I went to Istanbul with my job and had a blast! We went clubbing all the time, especially to this one club called Supper Club. One of my loudest, funnest colleagues loved this club and became friends with the door man and everyone there. She wanted to go there every night. She just recently left my work place and I wanted to thank her for this time at work so I made her a bracelet from a drink ticket from that club.

It was a mess! The elastic string broke all the time, I tried to hot glue gun it to the laminated ticket, but it melted and broke off immediately! I eventually (after a zillion attempts) did not have enough string left so the strings of pearls which eventually made it to the bracelet were a little too short.... I guess it will stretch out on her arm. I hope the elastic string will stick and not break off ... We'll see.

Here is the finished result. Is this an ingeneous idea to anyone else or am I crazy? I thought it was hilarious.

Comments much appreciated!

Oh my gosh, I love it! My Turkish is limited but I will never forget how to say 'one drink' and 'kiss me.' You know, the good stuff. It is so beautiful and I love the little translation. I'm going to write my friends and BEG that they send me junk like that from Istanbul and Ankara. Well done and I hope she likes it!
