Haha, you can show him a picture and tell him it's uncanny.  You know they did a study that suggested that people tend to "look like their name"... as in... you ever look at someone and say "that guy looks like a Ted?"  Well, yeah.  Maybe lots of Davids look like that.  Hmm.

Thank you all for the nice comments!  I had a lot of fun making them, and was really excited to give them away.  I was originally going to include a pack of pins... Smiley but no voodoo for this couple.

Ooops.  You already said that in your OP.  Either way, they're really awesome!!  I can never wait to give presents either!

I absolutely adore this. I love all the thought that went into them, from the necklace, to the glasses, to the box. How could anyone want something from the store if they could have these. Wouldn't they make cute shower/wedding gifts too?? You rock!!

Aw, thank you Smiley

My brother wears plaid shirts most of the time (or he used to, I don't know that he does anymore), so that's what actually started this entire thing.  I had made a Christmas quilt years ago for my ex-boyfriend's mother, and I had that green plaid fabric left over from the quilt.

I was looking through my stash one day and thought "Hey, this is like a shirt David would wear...", so I decided to make a doll of him.  But then I couldn't decide if I should give it to him as a novelty gift, or to his girlfriend as a "cuddle doll."

Being as my brother never really goes on business trips (giving his girlfriend a need for a cuddle partner), I decided to make one for each of them and give it as a joint gift.

It's funny, because the hair is spot-on.

It's okay that you asked even though I mentioned it.  I don't mind bragging about how much they adored them.  Smiley

I showed them to my dad when I was finished, and he just laughed and laughed.  That great deep-belly chuckle that he always finishes with shiny eyes.  He clearly thought they were going to be well-loved.

Smiley

I urge anyone to try - just pick some accessories or traits that are specific or identifying.  For instance, my best friend REALLY wears purple glasses, and my brother always has that little curl of hair that just WILL NOT abandon his forehead no matter how much he tries.  Smiley
