i'm working on a top right now and i'm about to join the pieces and i've tried following the way deb stoller does it in the snb books but the way she words it is just freaking confusing so i just kinda wing it and i guess it turns out ok but i'd rather know a good way to do it and not have to wing it all the time.

i usually sc or sl st the seams together. not the smoothest of joins, but it is strong.
