Has anyone attempted to make their own version of this awesome car seat poncho?http://www.carseatponcho.com/instructions.html

I am thinking about trying my luck at making one...so am I seeing this right? The material is a rectangle turned crooked so it looks like a diamond with a hood in the middle and a zipper from one corner to the middle?

it just looks like a regular poncho with a hood where there's a zipper in the front seam - a double separating zipper, i would imagine.

wouldn't be that hard to make - just follow the various poncho patterns (do a google search and you'll surely find a free one) and put a zipper in the front section.  that would be VERY simple to do - even if you're zipper-phobic, because you'll just connect 2 pieces with zipper.  easy really, i would think.

Oh wow I like that thing!  I have been trying to find something like that doesn't go behind the straps for my 2 year old and for the new baby coming in May.

I would think it was just a poncho maybe a bit longer than the baby's size with a zipper in the front.  I think I will be making one of these Cheesy  Thanks for the inspiration and let me know how yours turns out!

Those are cool.  Why didn't they have these things when mine were babies and we lived in WY?
