Has anyone attempted to make their own version of this awesome car seat poncho?http://www.carseatponcho.com/instructions.html

I am thinking about trying my luck at making one...so am I seeing this right? The material is a rectangle turned crooked so it looks like a diamond with a hood in the middle and a zipper from one corner to the middle?

it just looks like a regular poncho with a hood where there's a zipper in the front seam - a double separating zipper, i would imagine.

wouldn't be that hard to make - just follow the various poncho patterns (do a google search and you'll surely find a free one) and put a zipper in the front section.  that would be VERY simple to do - even if you're zipper-phobic, because you'll just connect 2 pieces with zipper.  easy really, i would think.

Oh wow I like that thing!  I have been trying to find something like that doesn't go behind the straps for my 2 year old and for the new baby coming in May. 

I would think it was just a poncho maybe a bit longer than the baby's size with a zipper in the front.  I think I will be making one of these Cheesy  Thanks for the inspiration and let me know how yours turns out!
