A few weeks ago, I made a few hoodies with some friends (they picked shirts from the thrift shop, I made a few while we sat around, ate, and chatted)

This is the one I made for my friend.  She picked out this cute little white shirt that was far too small for any of us with a little iguana on it, and then grabbed a long-sleeve orange shirt.  We added side pannels so she could breathe, lengthened the sleeves with a bit of red, and stuck on a hood.  She loves it.

Can't you tell?

Very cute, looks very confortable.
I've never tried a project like this before, but now I might just have to.
Thanks for sharing your creation.

woah.  in the first picture, it looks like her hand is transparent.  hehehe.

but that's besides the point that this is awesome!  i've often put things back because they were too small at the thrift shop.  i should just add more fabric to them!  great job.  Smiley

Haha, I never noticed that until you pointed it out.  I had to go back and see what you meant.

Never be afraid of size in thrift stores, everything is useable!  I love the really cheep places, where tshirts are a quarter or two, and nothing is over $20.
