i've fallen very behind on my knitting with school and work and such, so i decided that i had to finish at least one project over my holiday break. said break ends on tuesday, and i present my one FO! its the infamous fake isle from magknits, made with plymouth boku and wool of the andes. this was my first time using boku, and despite the fact that it breaks easily the colorway is really pretty.
i actually made it with size 7 needles, but it turned out HUGE! it was like i had a bucket on my head, and i hadn't even finished it yet... so i frogged it three days ago and started over with size 5s. this one fits perfect, and will work wonderfully keeping my head warm this january as i hike all over the forests of school in the rain.

without further ado..

Your hat is very pretty.  How many skeins of Boku did you use?  I have one skein that I was thinking about using for a fake isle.  Also, which size did you knit?
Thanks,
Ellen

Ooh - very pretty - I like the colours in the variegated yarn, and it looks very evenly knit.

How easy was the fair isle to do?  I ant to give it a go, but am a bit scared!

i used about 2/3 of the skein, and i knit the smaller size. the fair isle wasn't that hard - i think the hardest part is keeping the two yarns untwisted. and if you mess up (i have a couple of little mistakes here and there... the result of knitting and watching tv at the same time) you can always frog it and start again, or leave it- the colorway of the boku distracts the eye from any mistakes.
