DD was invited to a birthday party for a little girl from her Waldorf preschool. We didn't get much advance notice with the invite so I couldn't order anything online and TRU doesn't really have much to offer in the natural playthings genre, so it was time to break out some wool and my needles and create a little play mat complete with two cute gnomes. The mat is about 7"x12" and the gnomes are each about 2" tall including their hats. The log, gnomes, and boat can all be moved about. The boat is the only thing that is not wool (it's a nut shell with a muslin sail). I hope that she likes it.

ETA: I started it on Wed. and finished it on Thur. The party is tomorrow.

Now THAT is what I call original!

If she doesn't like it, can I have it for my little one? LOL Cheesy

That is a amazing piece of work there. The little people - & that log! I think this is the same feeling I get when i look at cute lil' dog's, that's what your gnome's are doing to me. ADORABLE.

That's wonderful. What a great imagination!  I love the detail - right down to the little boat!

Thanks all. It seemed to be a hit. At first I thought that the moms all liked it more than the kids, but DD assured me that the children thought that it was cool too.
