well, I was thinking that it'd be nice if DH understood my obcession with knitting, and I figured that if he knew how to knit too then maybe that would help.  so I tried talking him into it but he wouldn't go with it.  then he made a comment about how if he knitted anything it'd look bad and no one would want to wear anything he knitted.  so I told him I'd wear anything he knitted.  that was my fatal error! lol  he then decided that he wanted to learn to knit so he could make me something like this to wear!

lol I looked at the pattern after he printed it out, and I dare say he's quite a ways away from being able to do this.  though his garter stitch is getting to be much more even.  he's almost ready do learn to purl.

so, while I kinda stuck my foot in my mouth by telling him I'd wear anything he knitted (he's even found patterns for teddys) I did accomplish my goal of getting him to knit.  though now he'd better not think he can go taking my KP's!  maybe it'll give us something to do together after the kids go to bed.  and if a few years I may end up with a really pretty bra/panty set that I'll wear once. lol

anyway I thought you could all appreciate this.  Smiley

lol!  I'd be so excited if my FH was able to knit me any of those things...  i've been eyeing that set myself for a few months, but I am a way off from being able to do it, either.  good luck to you and your DH!

Don't underestimate the hubby. Most guys I know who knit, get good pretty quickly.

I keep trying to convince DH, but no luck so far.

Have you thought about getting him a fun knitting book for written by a guy for guys, like Michael Del Vecchio's "Knitting with Balls"?  It might make him feel a little more secure that, yes, other guys knit and get good at it.

Hee hee, I should try that with my DH!   Cheesy

Oh, wait... then he'd be stealing yarn from MY stash.

On the other hand.......

Good point  Cheesy  And he wouldn't be able to get upset at me for running up the credit cards at the LYS, because he'd be doing the same thing Wink

My husband saw all the stuff I knitted for Christmas this year and said to me last weekend that he wanted to learn.  I was so pleased!  I'm hitting the Michael's sale this evening to buy him some inexpensive yarn to practice on.
