Ok, so I'm a very beginning knitter but very ambitious.  I saw a scarf that I liked(because we all know that's the first thing you have to knit) but was looking for something else at the time.  Now I can't find it again...curse my one-track mind.  It was kind of a basketweave but had a cool tetris type pattern to it like rectangles laid in different directions....kinda like a fancy brick patio.  I've been looking at scarves for hours and am about to knit myself a noose, so if anyone knows where I can get a pattern for a scarf like that I would greatly appreciate it!!

Thanks! Smiley

I think I found something similar but I'm working on my own pattern as well.  The close one is this: http://www.knittingdaily.com/freepatterns/scarves_belts/Basketweave_Scarf_by_Ann_Budd30-1.html.  I'm gonna learn to purl first and then I'll work up a single block of my pattern and see if that looks how I want it to.  Of course I'll post the results. So here is my drawing board pattern where the 4's are knit and the 0's are purl.  It's 24 sts wide which on size 8 needles should give me about 4.5-5".  Oh and I'm Mooshie's DH so any help or suggestions would be great. Smiley

That looks like it would work, give it a try, you'll never know unless you knit it up....

I think that will look really good! Make sure you have a border of seed stitch or garter stitch to keep it from curling.
