SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE

BATTER
1 cup margarine or butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream or buttermilk (see note at bottom)
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
2 cups sifted flour

Topping
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup chopped nuts

Cream margarine and sugar.
Add eggs.
Fold in sour cream/buttermilk and vanilla.
Mix dry ingredients and fold into mixture.
Put together topping mixture.
Grease a 9"x 13" pan
Spoon 1/2 of batter into pan and then 1/2 of topping.
add remaining batter and topping.
Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

Just a quick note--I normally don't have sour cream or buttermilk on hand so i just use regular milk with a dash of vinegar in it (actually, i have only made this with sour cream once--all the other times have been reg  milk with vinegar added and the taste is exactly the same. )

If anyone does make this, please let me know what you think.

#23 Labneh!!! I took organic yogurt, added a pinch of salt and let the excess water drain out through a sterile washcloth overnight. The washcloth was really gross afterwards but you need to use a thicker cloth than cheesecloth for this because the yogurt will go right through. As you can see the yogurt is light and fluffy now! Perfect for Mediterranean dinner now!

#24 My first Henna tattoo! My friend wanted a full back and arm tattoo for A-Kon (Anime conference) so I spent two nights making it!

One arm done, one arm drying-fish scakes

Mug shot!

Dragon!

I was told it looks darker than the picture picked up on the last shot.

More after swap packages are received!!

Aside from the internet, I find it in our Hispanic market, Fiesta, or Indian stores and in places that sell beads, incense, fragrance oils... They seem to have it there.
