I have a free source for empty altoid tins I AM ALL OUT OF TINS!!

this is the cover of an altoids tin that houses a tiny set of "about me cards"....collaged cards, one fore each letter of the alphabet, that depict something about me...

this one is a "portable alter" which  I made to honor my addictive "parts".....I saw the idea on a website a long time ago....I will post it if I ever remember...Smiley

those are great!  I really like the one with cards about you.  that's a really cute idea.

oh, and I'd love some tins!  I've been wantign to ask if anyone had any, but I was too afraid I'd sound greedy.  I just plain don't like altoids and don't know anyone who does!  I'd be glad to pay for shipping.  I wouldn't need too many.  I'll e-mail you.

Those look great! I love the "About Me" idea.

An free altoid's supplier...you are very lucky. I'm not big on the taste of them either. How many do you have and how much do you want for them?

You are so good with those tins!  Very, very cute.  It makes me think of a gift idea I saw in a magazine where you cover and fill a tin with things tha relate to that person, basketball player, gardner, writer.... the ideas are endless.  I never got around to making any but now I am inspired.
And I too would love to buy some tins from you but I imaigine you are quite flooded with those requests now.  Let me know:)
Thanks for sharing your cute ideas.

Altoids are these very strong mints that are sold at drug stores, grocery stores, etc.. and they come in these tins.  The tins are either round or rectangular depending on the type of mint.  I think Altoids is a British brand but they have become very popular in the U.S.

Awesome art, mamakitty!

FYI, everyone:  there's a cool book by Kathy Cano-Murillo (http://www.craftychica.homestead.com/intro.html lady) called _Making Shadow Boxes & Shrines_ (http://store.yahoo.com/patrickandkathymurillo/kathysbooks.html) and she has lots of cool ideas for making pocket shrines and bigger ones!  I  will post this under the books section as well!!

wow.. do you mind if i borrow your about me idea?  i want to do that but instead make it a "why I love you" type thing for my boyfriend for valentines and explain why i love him in each letter of the alphabet.  oh man.  i have to think about the x and z letters though.. those are always the tough ones.

ps. nice user name  Smiley

You can buy Altoids in Tesco, after muchos searching in every shop in the land, I found them at the end of the sweets aisle with all the other breathminty type stuff. Beware, there's a lot of it. People must have really bad breath round here, to need so much choice in their mints!

I didn't theink they sold them in England either, 'til I found them here!

This isn't an altoid tin, its a tin that one of my friends got with tobacco in it. But its similar to Altoids so I thought I'd put it here. I covered it with polymer clay.
