Ok, everyone needs to head over to the gallery at the speed of light and see the stuff that mimiw sent me, and get your wist buttons ready, because you guys aren't going to believe how awesome this stuff is!

I'm having an issue with color and need some input.  Annacharlotte, you may get a tiny hint here if you keep reading, but feel free to weigh in...

OK:  what color *exactly* is teal?  Greenish-blue, right?  But does that mean seafoam?  Or more of a darker green with blue highlights?  I'm having trouble finding teal ______  that is not kitschy.  How do I find a none-kitschy teal?  Fortunately it's only an accent color, but still...I'd appreciate your thoughts!  Thanks!

My personal opinion is it is a bright blue/green, less seafoam, almost turquoise-ish...

If you like batiks - they always have tons of teal.

Yes, darker is better!  And true, it is often in batiks, but I tragically am not a fan of most batiks...I'll post a photo of my favorite chairs in action so you can see the color I have a lot of in my house.  Though their brilliance is now somewhat dampered by the quantity of goldish doghair that adorns them...

Maybe I just mean turquoise, and am only being fancy when I talk about teal?

Teals are my kryptonite.  I am drawn to them like hyenas to a bucket of baboon livers!  Sometimes friends have to say, "Put that down.  You just like it because it's teal, but it's ugly."  I think of teal as a slightly greener turquoise.  And I also think there are many teals (like there are many yellows, blues, etc.)

Too funny, T.  It's good to have friends like that around.

Okay, hold onto your hats, MistressT (and anyone else with the teal hyena problem).  Actually, MistressT might be safe because, if I remember correctly, she's not into mid-century modern stuff.  Anyway, here are my chairs...(and bits of my dog)

Ol' loungey:

The dining beauties:

And some gratuitous shots of other things in my house that I love...(once I get started taking pictures, you can't stop me!)

My shower curtain--perhaps the best expression I have of my favorite colors in action:

My jewelry organizer--no particular point, I just like it, and it's in the bathroom, near the shower curtain:

I love your shower curtain!  I love arts and crafts/william morris type designs.  Also, your jewelry organizer is in "MY" color.  I love that green.  I buy things in that green all the time.  i cannot even tell you how much yarn I have in that color.

Whew, thanks for all the teal advice!  That really helps.  After wandering among the aisles of  ________  all morning trying to compare teals I totally lost any sense of what it actually was.  Teal overload.  But I think I've got it now.  Thanks guys!

No worries, Veludo.  Sorry to hear you've been sick, and happy to see you back.  I totally understand going home and not wanting to look at one more screen.

As organizer, my main concern is really that you guys are still around, and still involved in the swap.  The easiest way for me to see you is if you post in the forums.  I know you're probably in touch with your partners, but that's not something I can monitor.  Please bear with me.  I hope I'm not being too much of a pain.

Happy crafting!
