Disney Pixar Cars Quilt for the Nephew AKA My First Attempt at Binding

I like to make quilts...I'm not very good at it and my simple block quilts usually end up off kilter. But this one turned out suprizingly well. It was very exciting actually. The only thing I had problems with was the binding. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep it straight and nice? The only really dissappointment was my nephew telling me he didn't like it...Oh well he's 2 and he'll get used to it. I made a pillow taggie thing to go with it and the front of the pillow has a pocket on it. The quilt itself is a quillow so it folds up for easy traveling(we always are in the car) and for using as a pillow while out and about.

aww, i think its adorable!  my 2 yr old would too, because she loves Cars...and blankets.  i know how you feel though, she HATES the clothing i make her. (she's come around though lately, since its so cold.)

My mum tried to tell me how to do it over the phone, she got so cranky at me for not understanding her instructions she nearly hung up on me! So I used this tute instead and it was very helpful.

Where'd you get Cars fabric?!!!

in my area there is only one place to get fabric unless you wanna drive an hour and that walmart...there selections actually not that bad and they have had everything i've wanted so far...otherwise i orderfabric from ebay...but all the fabric from that quilt is from walmart and there are some patches that i bought on ebay on the quilt too.

Aw, the fickleness of two-year olds.  I know a 3 year old who'd FLIP for that (who also loves CARS and blankets....very snuggly for reading)! 

The binding looks good to me!

the binding is like an impressionistic painting...looks good from afar but get to close and its not as pretty. i couldnt get my seem to stay straight so iits all over the place...and it only looks as good as it does because i cheated and used binding tape lol
