I wanted to learn/receive crochet. I sew, knit and cross-stitch.
ETA: I also wouldn't mind a fun pattern for something I already do. So I'm easy I guess Smiley

I just wandered off to my wist and it seems I have an affinity for crochet frogs - wonder where that came from.
It just seems crochet is more adaptable for making "goofyness" - I mean no disrespect what so ever - it is just that it seems like you have less annoying piecing together of parts if you are making small animals or flat cat coasters.
I bought the One skein wonder book without checking that the one thing I really wanted to make (the bathmat) wasn't crochet.

how is the one skein wonder book?  i've eyed it several times but have never been able to commit to paying twenty bucks for one...

I have both books now and I really like them. But I went crazy when a LYS was closing and spent $65 on 70% off yarn (so you can imagine how big that bag was) and so I had a lot of just one skein to play with.
If you can do both knit and crochet I think it is totally worth the price. I like it because of the variety and it is organized by yarn weight (something I wish knitty would do).

I might close signups around midnight (US EST) tonight. I'm thinking it will be a round robin swap, if no one else joins by then.
