Now that the holidays are over, I'm sure all of us have stacks and stacks of holiday catalogs and magazines that are completely useless to us. My family has a tradition of sitting down together to make mini trash bins for the new year. We use them mainly for food scraps (nut/seed shells, edamame shells, fish bones, etc.) but they're also good for storing other odds and ends. These little containers also double as a nice tabletop decoration (especially if you use colorful catalogs!)

Here are the containers in action

Here they are stored (one of the containers can be used to hold all the others):

Let's stay GREEN this new year!

If anyone wants a tut, I'll be glad to draw one out...just let me know =)

That's such a good idea! Much better than the flat way I use old mags in the kitchen at the moment, everything rolls off them! Grin
