Yeah, I think that is why it took me so long. The yarn was so soft and slippery and I have aluminum needles. I think it would have been easier on the beginner me if I had plastic or wooden. Although I did like the way it slipped off the needles. It was so fluid and relaxing. Cheesy

A few days ago I had a 'brain wave' that I was going to make a doily out of red worsted weight yarn and I actually started it.  After about 6 rounds I thought 'what in the world am I going to do with a doily made with that heavy of yarn and besides, it's red and nothing in my house is red' so I decided to stop where I was and realized it was rather cute like it was - so I present to you my mini-doily:

Then I was trying to decide to keep it or toss it and I looked at the table where the roses were that my hubby got me two weeks ago and realized the vase would fit in between the popcorn stitches perfectly and it would make them look even prettier - so now I have a use for my mini doily:

The doily is really cute - you could also use it as a decoration on a Christmas tree (should you celebrate, that is)
