wow so much great stuff!! I love the diversity in this thread of types of crafts!

Here is my red project, it's all red on the inside but very hard to photograph so I'll take more pics tomorrow and this will have to do for today!

I had intended on starting on this craftalong. But I don't have a camera cord to my camera and the person I ordered it from on ebay is taking wayyyyy to long to get it here. I'm glad I didn't do jan, or else I wouldn't have been able to post it and I would been ticked  Tongue Oh well....she said another is on the way, so I'll believe it when I see it.

Besides, I could never compete with everyone's beautiful stuff!!! Although if I have time, perhaps I can attempt February  Grin

This isn't a competition, it's all in fun and a great way to show off things you've made.  Last year I posted some simple origami one month because it fit the color scheme for the month and I wanted someone to see what I had folded.

p.s.  I love your avatar picture  Grin

Thanks Smiley I'm in the Reading Rainbow Swap so the avatar seemed fitting  Cheesy

Yes, I suppose you're right about not being a competition. Now I just may really make something for V-day.

Ok, so I've made one red project, but I'm not 100% happy with it (yarn wasn't the greatest choice - but hey - it was scraps from my stash!).

Here is my project, a red heart ornament:

http://mochimochiland.com/weblog/?p=14 is where I found the pattern. It's incredibly easy!

I didn't have any worsted weight in red around, so I used some DK weight cotton I had left over from another projects. I also sized down to a US3 needle to try to accommodate the difference in weight (of the yarn), but I think I should have gone down one more size to make the stitches a bit tighter...

awesome- thank you!

felting only works on wool right? i wonder if trying it on cotton yarn has any effect... i think it looks cute the way it is though. you could even knit another one and put pink or some contrasting color inside so it makes a 2 tone effect through the stitch gaps...
