I think I may try and pop in on this one again. I made exactly one item for the 2007 colour craftalong, so hopefully I can be a little more on the ball this year. I'm not sure if I have enough time to finish a rainbow one, but I'll have to check out my stash to see what I have....

Love everyone's projects!  I have a hard time with rainbow stuff, just not my thing, so I didn't really have anything that was exciting me.  But I got a pack of assorted fabric scraps from Ebay yesterday and there are several rainbow-colored pieces in there...now I just have to decide what to make with my decidedly limited sewing skills...

I made some rice socks today and was pleased that I found some material in my stash.  One that is made has all the colors using different sport team names.  I've already tried one out to see how and if it works and oh wow it gets you nice and toasty warm in minutes.  Here is my project...

Hi Vicki - those are terrific! I made a ton of those about three years ago in every size imaginable (100 pounds of rice). Here's a trick, if you like cinnamon, put some in the bag when you make them and when you nuke it the bag will smell so awesome! I have bags that I nuke and throw in the bed at the foot before I get in to warm it up! You will love everything about those! If you have small children they are great to throw on top of them in the car seat on top of a blanket to keep them toasty until the car warms up.....so many different things...so much toasty comfort! 100 lbs of rice made me think of a comforter sized rice bag that you toss in the dryer to heat up. Wouldn't that be crazy? And probably heavy.... Tongue

dude, i want a 100lb rice comforter. like, on me, right now, all the time.

this is mostly because i ripped my "comforter" (sleeping bag) up to make something out of it, and now i'm experiencing my first 'real' winter... hopefully that something that i'm making will be posted soon as my january rainbow craft, haha!

This is such a great idea! I should make some for my movie nights! Has anyone tried making these long and skinny for necks, etc? Just wondering if it would be as effective Smiley
