Ok, so I'm going to be a bit of a bad monkey and post what I have done - even if it's only 50% done the entire project! But hey - they're socks!

I had this yarn sitting in my stash since January of last year (I had bought it for the '07 craft-along, but it didn't work out), and had been sitting and wondering what the heck to do with it (not quite my style). Then, BINGO! This project actually knocks out 4 objectives!

"How 4?" you ask?

1- I used yarn from my stash (that I had no clue what to do with!)
2- Obviously, a project for this craft-along
3- My daughter has been constantly asking for me to knit something for her, so now I have (and I can't tell you just how happy she is!)
4- I made a 2008 Goal to knit at least one pair of socks a month - and here is my January pair taken care of!

Without further ado, I present Rainbow Feet (well, foot, but there'll eventually be 2 of them - hopefully by the end of the weekend!):

Isn't it neat how the colours spiral around the leg? I really hope I can get them to do the same on the second sock! Now, I personally, wouldn't likely wear these - but my daughter LOVES them!

Let me know what you think!

Those are perfect socks for kids!

Even for grown-up kids. Cheesy I think I wouldn't mind wearing them (in my size) at all...

I made this before I knew about the craftalong, but it certainly fits! A rainbow scarf for one of my friend's birthdays, out of a thrifted silk shirt.

Holy Moly! You guys are crafty goddesses!

I too have knitting envy.  Cry

I have a rainbow item (well colorful anyway) to post but I'm going to wait until my swap partner receives it first.

the ruffles are long strips cut from the shirt and gathered (which took FOREVER!). There's a pic of the original shirt here:
