The was one of the many handmade items I gave out for Christmas this year.  I made a couple of reverse applique scarfs for friends and family.  One day I challenged my supervisor to pick a silhouette to be integrated into such a scarf.  After he didn't come up with much I told him that I could get a middle finger in one.  He didn't believe me so I told him that i would be his Christmas gift.

Here she is.  All fired up and ready to flip!

I hope this doesn't offend anyone.  It was a fun project to work on and completely in jest.

Happy New Year everyone!

That's hilarious.

Did your supervisor love it?  Will he wear it?

I'm pretty sure he loved it.  I don't get to see him on a daily basis anymore so I'm not sure how much he wears it.  Part of me hopes he wears it to work everyday because the bird is really meant for the place and not the guy wearing it. Wink

That's so funny!  Good job!

Thanks so much!  It was a fun project to work on.

Pffff.  Not at all!  Sometimes the world needs a few more obscene gestures!

It's super easy.  Just get the shape (I found this on istockphoto.com), print, cut and trace around.  Then you just cut out the shape and do a running stitch around the shape.

I used this weird fabric that I'm guessing was meant for upholstery.  I was like a hard terry cloth, but after I washed it it was nice enough for a scarf.  I back it with a soft felt fabric.
