So, since my little brother is awesome (and because I told him to) he bought me SNB for my birthday today.  I want my first project to be the knee socks but I am wondering if the calf section will be big enough.  Has anyone had problems with it being too tight?  thanks!

im knitting them right now, and i tried on the top part and it only goes halfway up my leg, so your not the only one with that problem, i don't know how to fix it other then make it bigger

I have thick calves myself. I haven't tried this pattern yet but when I make knee socks I switch my needles to the next size up at the biggest part of my calf.

I made a pair of these... fearing exactly what happened (that they didn't fit my fat legs), I bought a second set of yarn to make some for me and sent the first pair to a skinny legged friend... so count me interested in whatever tips or tricks anyone has for this NOT to happen.
