During Boxing Day, I bought an XXL women's tunic from Old Navy. I saw it on the hanger like this:

It was just begging to become a dress.

So I took it home and I put it on. The sleeves were gargantuuuuuuaaaaaa aan, but the drawstring (which was supposed to sit under the bust, but I'm not XXL so it sits on my waist) worked out alright, so I decided to take the sleeves off. The neckline gaped a lot too, since the last button ends below the bust, so I added a couple more buttons so that it closed up all the way. I also had to take several inches off the arm holes and put facings in.

In the end (and accessories added, etc. etc.), I ended up with this:

wow, that's actually a huge inspiration!!  it's simple but i really like that you made something you can actually get a lot of use out of, instead of doing some big complicated thing like i always seem to end up doing.  kudos.

that is too cute!  Cheesy i did a similar thing with a size 18 dress but it became seriously slutty by mistake due to the neckline being much lower on me than a size 18 person

so congratulations on not falling into the same trap
