I have a Singer Esteem 1732 and my needle is set to the left side which makes it so stinking hard to get a quarter inch seam. Can anyone tell me how to align it so it's on the right side (or middle at least) OR how I can get a quarter inch seam with it being in the left. If you look at the needle and the presser foot the needle is aligned with the left side of what I call the fang teeth of the foot...if that makes any sense!

Do you have the instruction manual for your machine?  There should be a setting that will move the needle back to center.

My Kenmore and Janome both have a setting that will move the needle over to the left.

Don't call it trash...I can make something with it!!!

I do have the manual but it doesn't mention anything about that. I've read it over and over again. I did get it to move to the center by moving the width all the way to zero...but that only helps me on a straigt stitch...maybe I can figure out a way to make it work for the zig zag after playing with it for a bit.
