This is my mom's Christmas present!  It's late, I suck.  But, at least it's done now!!  So, on to pics.

All rolled up and tied like a pretty little package:

Opened with the flap still down:

Close up on the pockets:

Annnnnd, all the way open to reveal my little message:

Close up on the words:

In case you can't tell, there are 3 levels of pockets.  Some are big enough for scissors, some for DPNs, some for straight needles, stitch holders, blah, you get the point.  I filled it with some of my knitting stuff so you can make the pockets out better.  Those needles on the top level are the 14" long kind.  Oh, and if anyone's interested, I did the wording by stenciling onto some of the leftover grosgrain ribbon and then just sewed it down (after burning the ends to prevent fraying).  All of this made possible because an awesome friend of mine made one for me and then made me a tutorial so that I could make this one for my mom!!

Comments, criticisms, suggestions?

Eep! It is so fabulous! The fabric is so cute, the stitching-- so straight! I love Love LOVE the message on the inside. She is going to adore it. Who cares that it's late?

You seriously did a great job on this! I'm hitting "this rocks"!  Smiley

I'm jealous and want to volunteer to be your mom next year!
It looks great and finely crafted.  Did you stencil with fabric ink on the ribbon, or something else like a sharpie or dye?  I'm impressed how professional it looks.

I used the freezer paper method with acrylic paint mixed w/textile medium to stencil the letters.

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

I love the stencilled tags on the ribbon in particular, what a lovely present for your Mum. Did she love it?

She doesn't have it yet.  I'm mailing it tomorrow!  But, she did see pics that I emailed her and she gushed so that made me feel really good!

I shop at the Nabootique

'Shall we make an attempt upon the D minor double sonata?' said Jack, 'and knit up the ravelled sleeve of care with sore labour's bath?'
'By all means,' said Stephen. 'A better way of dealing with a sleeve cannot be imagined.'
