I have this old ottoman that I inherited from a great aunt. It's in perfect condition, but the brown vinyl is ugly and horrible to the touch. I was afraid I'd ruin it if I tried to reupholster it, so I made a plush faux leopard fur slipcover.  It's not perfect, but I like it much better.

One with no flash. The fabric is a bit hard to photograph.

I wasn't happy with my first attempt, so I made it into a matching cat bed. It's not quite the same without the button, but I didn't think it would be nice to sleep on.

Plus a tissue box cover made from some of the scraps.

Comments and questions welcome. Smiley

There's not much in this world that can't be improved by either chocolate, bacon or glitter.

That's a fantastic solution!  Circles intimidate me, but you've done an excellent job.  Regarding cat beds... you'd think tv remotes and cell phones wouldn't be comfortable to sleep on either, but apparently they are!

Thank you. Cheesy

Thanks, hon. I really like that I can remove the cover from the ottoman and still use it to polish my toes without worrying about spills - the only thing I liked about it. I'm not too fond of sewing circles either. I wound up hand sewing a lot of this. I just couldn't maneuver it under the presser foot on my machine.
What is it about cats and remote controls, I wonder? lol  And phones, glasses, knitting needles, ...

I was so surprised when I read the title of your post.  I recently made a slipcover for a similar ottoman and also used a leopard print.  I love yours.

I don't know how to put pics in the reply.  Please follow the link to my website. Then click on the Misc album.  The first couple pics will be the ottoman.
