I love this style ring...and i've made a few variations myself. I fell in love with this ring from Urban Outfiitters...
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=6875&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=77&iSubCat=87&iProductID=6875

...but didn't want to pay $14 for something that might fall apart.  I had a plain sterling ring with a little ring on top...

and some sterling headpins and sparkely beads...

...and i came up with this! i really like it....opinions?

in the latest bust they have an article that has a whole bunch of diy gifts for xmas, and there's a ring like that.
and you don't need to buy rings like that, it tells you how to make it from wire.
if you're interested i could type it up and post it.

thanks for all the nice comments.....tutorial....its pretty easy. i started with the blank ring with the little loop.

then  i picked some headpins and beads..you could use eyepins too if you'd rather

then i put one bead onto a headpin, and wired it onto the little hoop.  I kept doing that until the hoop was full.  At first it looks a little flat, but to get the headpins to "standup" and make the ring look full, i attached some headpins to the already attached headpins.  Kinda confusing, i know.  You could probably wing it..its all a matter of attaching the headpins w/ beads to either the ring or to the other headpins.  Just keep doing this until the ring looks nice and full. When i finished, I kinda smushed all the beads together, so they still have a little movement but stay in a little bunch.  I can take step by step pictures if that will be easier, let me know
