Have you found making diapers to be kind of addicting?  I can't believe how much I enjoy making something that gets pooped on! Cheesy  I have found so many websites about making diapers that I had to make a diaper file in my favorites list.  I love it!

Oh definitely! I even make them for friends! I'm also considering getting one of those things to apply plastic snaps. I have several clothing items I like to make that I would like to use them on, in addition to diapers.

I prefer velcro on my skinny baby b/c the fit is "perfect" and the snap ones are always too tight or too loose...arrg! And another argument against them (to myself) was that I didn't like using petroleum based products on the dipes, but the velcro is petroleum based, so there's that. Smiley

It sure is fun, isn't it??

Thanks for the resource!
I'm waiting for my approval...LOL!

That's a lot of diapers you need, huh? Pretty much I only 24 in a size at once...I had more than that but I don't really WANT to go more than a couple days between washing them, so I pared it down.
I bet even with as many as you have you'll have to wash every 3rd day to keep them under control!

ps  i do diaper laundry every single day, BUT when i get sick or the kids get sick, I need more diapers.  also, diapers have a tendency to disappear around here as the kids like to take the clean diapers and wear them as hats and stuff. .. .

great job the ottobre was never my favorite diaper pattern, but it looks like you got it working for ya! I second the snap press especially with fleece, aplix can get very clogged with the pilling of the fleece....
I am a diaper addict here too, working on my size large stash was hoping i wouldn't need larges but alas its time Smiley

I thought I was up to my eyeballs in diapers, but I only have one in diapers!  Do you have any tips on storing them.  The diaper stacker is no longer an option, and it didn't hold them very well anyway.  I can't even fit a days worth in the diaper pail anymore and am going to get a bigger one.

I was also unsure about snaps for diapers, but after using the Dappi diaper covers with velcro I had no choice.  The velcro wore out before my daughter outgrew them and they were falling off.  I decided if I was going to put the effort into making them, I was going to make them to last.  I'm sure there is better velcro, but I didn't want to chance it.  The Ottobre pattern was not good at all, I butchered it so much I can't really say that's what I used.

When my daughter was little I made some pre-folds from receiving blankets I got as gifts with wash cloths in the center.  I also made some from the Gerber flat fold diapers (don't buy Gerber pre-folds for diaper use, trust me).  Diapers can be very expensive, but making them from reclaimed fabric is much cheaper.
These are some websites I found that show how to make diapers from old clothing:

Hope this helps!
