hello there Smiley

basically, I promised a friend of mine that I would make her a mixtape ... about a year ago! when we discovered the joys of the "BREAKDANCE: YOU CAN DO IT!" instructional cassette, last year sometime. I finally got my act together and although it says november, she unwrapped it as a christmas gift just a few days before the 25th.

I'm really not sure where I should have posted this topic, so here it is in "miscellaneous" - although it could have been under "occasions" or recycled items, since the tape, fabric, books it's balanced on (which were part of the present too, they're not just set decoration!) and even the pen I used are all second-hand.

I'd really appreciate some feedback Smiley

an overview.

ahhh. this is just whole package together really... again.

and, (sort of) all together ~ apologies for an overload of images Lips sealed Undecided

hope you like it!

This is the type of thing my old school husband would LOVE!
Both the music and the format. I love the packaging too. This is something I have never seen on Craftster before and I am going to bookmark it for future reference.

Smiley thanks for the reply. yeah I couldn't find anything like it, I guess not many people are into tapes anymore. but I have an obsession with cassettes and their packaging. I collect a lot of old ones out of charity shops. this one was german, "supercassette!" but I saved the original insert (just as colourful) for some other project. the fabric sleeve for the outside was just the cuff of a long-sleeved t-shirt that I stitched up at one end and decorated.

and yes, I recommend the music on here too! Cheesy

speak to you soon.

thankyou folks! Cheesy

yeah I may be one of the only ones left making mixtapes as presents. but I make music this way too, and I know quite a few bands who do too. I remixed a reading of Watership Down for someone else last year, that was a right laugh Smiley

Oh how I love thee cassette tape!
My brother used to record white noise and tell me it was ghosts speaking to me through my Fisher Price tape recorder. I knew it wasn't but I dutifully played along.
Oh and Watership Down.
Made me cry so much as a nipper.
All these memories from one post!
Peace out x
