how do you make these/where did you learn??

I've been drooling over some of the hats I've seen here and i'm super intrigued...

your hat is awesome

Books mostly, some online articals, and a few patterns. I started with a vintage vogue pattern. decided I didn't need the pattern and just started to make them. I know block my own hats out of felt and block my buckram into the shapes I want. I only use one type of premade hat because I can get them so easily.

Awesome job! I have a bag full of turn of the century ostrich feathers from my great grandmother who used to do millenary work... I think I'm inspired. Smiley

It does have a good weight to it, but the gears balance the weight so it does not kill the wearer Cheesy
