Here's my first background... not too sure if it's one that I'll end up using though. It's not what I was planning at all. I was thinking about blues and reds and look what I ended up doing   Roll Eyes

I love all of your backgrounds, Goatgoddess!  I don't think the bright colors are too busy, and collaging on top will tone it down a bit (I'm sure that cutting it up will tone it down, too).

Maremare312, your backgrounds sound awesome.  You should definitely post some pictures.

That is really pretty, Panthermoon!  Did you use a paper doily on top?

Thank you.   Smiley I do like the way it turned out, just not sure about it for inchies though. I did use a paper doily as a stencil for the black paint on top of the copper shades, I found it while I was looking for some Asian pages that I have

everyone's backgrounds sound so good

Goatgoddess I think that last one will make great inchies, especially when you gut them into squares, I do like them all though

Ok, here's what I've been working on!

And remember:

<---primarily a soap maker lol!

These still need to have finishing touches and get mounted on something heavier. The pink ones will probably get trashed since the stuff I tried to use to adhere lace and tulle discolored really badly. And I have the tiniest little stamp pad collection, you can kind of see tiny little southwestern design (coiled) snakes I stamped on the "muerto" one. I need to get more stamps like that, they are great for this scale of project!

This is one of my faves, coffee filters modpodged and then green and black paint and stamped silver inkpad. Lots of texture!

Here's the one with daisies and bronze mica

Fun bubble tissue paper, mod podge, and lots of iridescent mica

Oooh maremare, I like your finished inchies so far!  Especially those knights.

And on a tangent, I like your rotary cutter love affair tagline.  For a couple years, I put off buying a rotary cutter and healing cutting mat because "I'm not a piecing quilter - what would I use those for?".  Sheesh - what did I know?!?  I got a set on sale at Joann's and immediately fell in love!  I can't believe I'd waited so long for wonderfully straight and easy cuts.

THanks! Those knights came off of some "where's waldo" book page! PERFECT scale for this project!

Same here, not a quilter, thought I didn't need it! I was wrong. I got it to cut the fringe for those no-sew fleece blankets, I was making 3 for Christmas presents and ran out and bought it (sale at Joann's too!) after my hand almost fell off just from cutting one half of one blanket with scissors.

Goatgoddess, they look great! I bet the colourful one will look great too once it's cut down to size.

Maremare312, your backgrounds look brilliantly textured. Your muerto one is really cool!

Panthermoon, that looks quite oriental to me, I bet it'll look good cut down too as it'll create some interesting patterns to work with.

Update: I have 52 inchies completed now. I updated my post rather than double posting the pictures here all the time...52 inchies
