Well, the cooking forum is the last place I'd ever expect to post!  I don't cook, but I do bake now and again.  I have probably over 100 cookie cutters and I bet I've used fewer than 2 dozen of them... including a set of 6-pointed stars I received as a gift a few years ago.  I had an epiphany that I could use them as a base for snowflakes!  I used two sizes of star, Martha Stewart's shortbread recipe (that I've used for years) and basic royal icing.  I thought they turned out simple and somewhat elegant (you know, for frosted cookies).

They look awesome!  It's a very creative (and elegant  Cheesy )  idea.  I want to go and make some now (but I'm too lazy.  I'll try it sometime this year....   Cheesy )

Jeepers! Thanks everyone!  I gotta say, that after frosting 90 of those suckers my neck was killin me!  I have whiplash, but I bet it would have hurt anyway!  Oof.  I wish I'd had some blue sugar or something sparkly to add to some of them, but I was dee ewe enn done shopping by the time it came to frost cookies.
