Wow, this is my first post on this board!

Anyway, for Christmas this year I made crayon rolls for my niece and nephew (both are two years old, and just starting to love art supplies).  They were a big hit with the kids and the parents, and quite easy to whip up.  I filled them with big crayons, and packaged them with coloring books.

Outside: adorable "deep sea" themed fabric.  I added the recipient's name in felt (this one was for my nephew).

Inside: yellow gingham (with a flap at the top to keep the crayons from spilling out).

All rolled up:

Cute! I love the flap idea. Plus, it hides the parts of the roll that might get crayon on them from putting them away and taking them out. Clever. Wink

So cute! Smiley

Making one of these for my niece's son for his birthday i 2 weeks, and I think adding his name is a great idea. If you don't mind, of course?

What did you use to get the letters so perfect?

HSG - of course you can use the idea!  I'm sure I'm not the first to do it.  I made the name using chipboard scrapbooking letters.  I stuck them to the felt using double-stick tape, then cut out around them.  Easy!
