When my sister got her puppy about a year ago, I made him a baby blanket as a welcome home present.

I made a tied blanket using fleece, and used a recycled bed sheet for the embellishments.

here's the front (the back is just plain white)

his name is berkley

and here's berkley laying on it! when he first came home he was about the size of one of the patchwork squares!

just recently, my sister's friend and her husband just got a mastiff puppy, and my sister asked me to make him a baby blanket just like berkley's.

the owners really like the buffalo bills, so i used red, blue and white soft felt (since i couldn't find the right colors of fleece), and a recycled towel for the helmet and logo. i used regular cotton for the letters.

the dog's name is dave

the back is solid blue. there's a layer of white in the middle so all the colors would show in the fringes, plus it made the blanket a bit more cushy

thanks for looking!

I love these!! I've been planning to make my doggy a blanket for this winter, but couldn't decide exactly what to do. I'm totally gonna make one like yours now :0) Love the color scheme in the first blanket. Awesome job! :0)

These are very well done. I never thought of making personalized blankets for puppies but after seeing yours I think it is a great idea

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. . . . I would rather have cheese.

thankyou! my sister told me when she got her puppy that giving them a bed or blanket and training them to make them learn that its "their space" is a good idea, and i thought personalizing it would give it a nice touch
