I think I would love to join in. Would you also have a pattern to follow for joining the squares?

I'd like to join in . My sister bought me a book of crochet throw patterns for christmas - and said  ' if i could crochet thats what I'd make '  . If thats not a hint i dont know what is !!  but the squares should be easier to manage on the train.

Yay! Looks like we're on for a new CAL!

Here's the best picture I could get of my finished afghan from the last round:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=117318.470

I couldn't get the whole thing in the pic but it's 24 squares, 6 squares x 4, and it's on a king size bed. It would have taken another row width wise to cover it entirely (6 x 5) but I decided not to worry about it. It's still huge.

pjherbert, I think joining method will be crocheter's preference, since I only one way to do it, lol. Maybe I'll challenge myself to learn a new method this time.
I do think I will join as I go along this time, instead of waiting til the end and having a whole stack to put together.

WoW HorsePower that looks beautiful  Smiley I'm going to do a neutral colour scheme too as this will hopefully evolve into my older sister's Xmas gift for '08  Cheesy

btw, how DID you join your squares? I've only made on afghan  before and I just sewed the strips together with mattress stitch

Thanks!  Cheesy
I think I did the same thing as you? I sewed through the back loops. I'd like to learn how to crochet them together, I will have to look for a tutorial.

I have crocheted them together before and I like that better than just joining them. I will have to think back on what I did because it was a long time ago but it looks so much prettier.

I can't wait for the first pattern!   Cheesy

Happy New Year, everybody!  Cheesy  I thought this square had a nice name to start us off with.

Januarys Square: Dreamcatcher
http://www.heartmadeblessings.org/patterns/dreamcatcher.asp

I field-tested it already and it is really easy but the finished result looks very fancy. I did find two minor errors in the pattern:

Rnd 3:
*ch 3, sc in next ch 3 sp* should be
*ch 3, sc in next ch 1 sp*

Rnd 4:
*ch 3, sc in next ch 1 sp* should be
*ch 3, sc in next ch 3 sp*

Have fun!
