ok, this is too cool.  those of you who know me know that i can knit pretty much anything.

except socks.  i've had this really stupid phobia about knitting socks.

then Annchen sent me just the push I needed to try it - she sent me this amazing self-patterning yarn, and enough instructions to give me the courage to try it.

so now, I present my very first pair of socks that I made myself!

Self-striping sock yarn is one of the cooler inventions in the world. Those are great. It never occurred to me to knit a sock, although I had knitted for years. About three months ago, I was taking a knitting class and the teacher showed me as sort of a side project. Now, I can't stop!!! They are great little projects, and they even fit in your purse for portability and no boredom when you're caught with an unexpected wait somewhere.

Those are so much fun. I wish many more socks in your future.

Knittinfiasco - the yarn was OnLine Supersocke Sock Yarn - the label was mostly non-english, but it was colorway 960

completely self-patterning, self-striping, all i had to do was knit, and they came out looking like that - really makes it look like i knew what i was doing, huh?

Way to go! You did a great job! It was the yarn that lured me into sock knitting too!
