My friend Rach told me that all she wants for Christmas is an apron. I went to the store and picked out a pattern on sale, but when I started cutting it out, I got extremely impatient. I knew that an apron had to be more simple than six pieces. So I dug through my pattern box and found my easiest dress pattern (Simplicity 3742), modified the front piece, cut 2, sewed them right-sides together leaving a place for strap casing at the top and waist, flipped it right side out, sewed the casing, and put the ribbon in. Easy as pie!

I of course had to make a prototype so I didn't ruin any of the material that my gift recipients liked, so I used this $1/yard shiny red stuff (Walmart is love!). I like it. On my next ones, I'll probably make it an empire-waist instead, because it's a little too low-rise for me, but I'm so excited! I haven't made anything nearly as successful in a few months. Time to get back on the wagon...

I know it still needs to be ironed, but it's hard to not jump for joy when I've gotten to a point where I can wear it :p
