I've read so much on swapping but can't find this answer anywhere. There are so many swaps starting in January that I want to join but since I've never done it before I need to get my first one in soon. My question, when I sign up for my first swap is there any rule about sending my package out within days or do I have to wait until the send-out date?

I'm not saying my first swap item will be crap, I don't have a job and I don't have kids so my days are filled with nothing but me-time and can get it done early.

once partners are posted you can pretty much send out as early as you want. Smiley just make sure you do a great job on the item(s) and that you are proud of what you are sending.

Thanks!! This whole "housewife" thing gets pretty boring. I can turn "swapping" into my new hobby!  Grin

I host the Newbies Only swaps so I know how challenging/scary/fun your first swap can be. I wish you good luck and have fun!

p.s. getting into the habit of sending early is a very good thing!!

I would suggest PMing your partner if you are going to send really early. For example, I've signed up for swaps knowing that I'll be away from home during the middle of it so then the package runs the risk of getting sent back to you since I hadn't picked it up in a timely manner.

speaking from an organizer's perspective, sending early is very helpful Smiley

and in swaps, i almost always send way early...  not only is it allowed, but generally appreciated.
