Look what I found lurking in my garden. It looks like he is posing in his longjohns.

This is indeed the Alan Dart yuletide gnome pattern from Simply Knitting and featured on the site provided by Monkeythumb. I ordered the pattern from the Simply Knitting site in August. Only got the pattern this month as they indicated that there was a higher pattern demand and delays at the printer. They requested a 5.50 pound equivalent, which meant that I sent them a cheque for $11.95Can. The beard is perfect. It is a random ball of fuzzy eyelash yarn that I found discounted with no label. It pays to hunt and gather.

I am starting my second gnome, this one for me. He might not be nekkid this time.

PS. Thanks to Couger1 for her help.

This is fabulous!

For years, my sister has wanted a gnome.  Maybe I can finally grant her wish.

I must have this pattern for next years x-mas gifts! Thanks for posting. It seems like I never see these patterns until several years after they became a craze.

When you knit the gnome pieces they don't look like much. The real magic comes when you assemble the body parts, put the kink in the hat, and then fasten the beard with only a little nose showing. You cannot help but smile, and then start your next one.

I subscribe to simply knitting over here in the UK so I will have to route out the pattern, some of next years christmas pressies sorted. Once I've made one for myself of course.

Darn you for making me obsess over getting this pattern. Just ordered the Simply knitting bumper book from preg_replace('/(.{19})/', '$1 ', 'www.myfarouritemagazines.co.uk')  Must... make... Gnome... Why do I always jump the bandwagon a year after something comes out?

Tee hee to Brita Bear.  I would love company while I knit my gnomes. Lucky Trina for being able to subscribe to the magazine and feast on the new Alan Dart creations. I am trying to knit my next gnome using my newly learned sock method using 2 circular needles. Hope this will save me from all the stitching of seams later. Stay tuned.
