I was in Cyprus this summer and they had dresses like this in a lot of the boutiques. Of course, they were expensive, especially with the exchage rate, so I made my own...and just got around to posting them. Embarrassed Sorry about the picture quality, I took them with photobooth Grin

I've seen things like this recently in urban outfitters too.

[I'm having picture troubles....sorry!] I know these shouldn't have to be links since they are on craftster, but it's not working, sorry, I'm new to picture posting!

This one is made out of sparkly scarfs from Tijuana, Mexico.

Excellent job! I'm sure those boutique owners would hate for your copies to show them up like that.

Eeeek!  I just saw this is the "hot projects" bar, and thought "hey, I was in Cyprus this summer and saw scarf dresses, too!"  Then I realized who was posting this, haha.  I love how your dresses came out - I think they look better than the ones we were admiring in Limassol.  I hope you are doing well!

Thanks so much everyone! They are super easy to make, no cutting required!

Thanks Alli_Lucy, I'm glad they compare well to the originals, just took me forever to get them up here.

how big were your scarves to being with?
how tall are you?
((so i can get an idea of what size a shortylike me would need))

The scarfs are about 33 inches long (they're squares). I'm ....short, like 5'4'' ish.  You can pretty much hold them up to you to see if they are long enough, but be careful to check the back, one of mine is extra skimpy over the butt.

Thanks so much everyone!

I'm not very good at explaining things, these dresses are really simple. Maybe I'll try to make a tute, I've never made one before!
